NETHERTON. SPORTS CLUB. The recent decision of ’.he Netherton Sports and Recreatio.i Club to permit its associate, the Netherton Tennis Club, to operate on its banking account was rescinded at a general meeting on Thursday evening, and it was decided to advance the tennis club £4O to start its own banking account. The loan is to be repaid with interest in two years. TENNIS CLUB. A general meeting of the Netherton Tennis Club was held on Thursday evening. It was decided to order sufficient metal chips to improve the run-back of the courts and also restar to topdress the courts and seal the runback. ’ Owing to the difficulty of travelling it is not likely that the club will affiliate with the Hauraki Flatus Tennis Association. Sufficient matches with other clubs can be arranged privately, and a number of trophies have been promised for club competition. A donation of a silk cushion has been made by the local ladies' guild ?n aid of the club funds. A date for the annual rose ball was fixed, but as it will clash with the Paeroa show it will probably be altered. THE SCHOOL. Owing to the amount of sickness among pupils and, teachers the Netherton school was only open for the three upper standards on Friday last. Two of the teachers, Misses McLeod and Whisker, were away with influenza. SCHOOL CONCERT. The pupils of the Netherton school are at present preparing for a school concert, which will be held shortly. The annual prize-giving, and also the presentation of the shield won by the school team, will be made during the evening.
