PLANS FOR NEW BUILDING. AMPLE PROVISION FOR PUPILS. Plans for the new manual and technical building at Paeroa have been received. The proposed building is of handsome design, and care has been taken to provide ample accommodation for pupils in the future. The building comprises woodwork and cookery rooms each 30ft by 25ft, a teachers’ room 9ft by 9ft, and a storeroom and pantry, each Bft by 6ft. Two 9ft by 6ft porches are provided, together with lavatories. The structure is to be of wood throughout, placed on concrete blocks. The weatherboards are shown as edge-grained cedar, and all exposed timber is to be heart of kauri or tbtara. The cookery room will be lined with vertical lining, with ceilings of Triumph or Maxwell wall boaiding. Fifteen points for electric lighting are to be installed in addition to heating points, and provision is made for a large range, as well as gas and electric cookers. Ample daylight will be admitted to the rooms oy means of a number of slide sash windows and fanlights. Provision has also been made for a hot and cold water system, together with three sinks and wash-ing-up benches. An overhanging roof, bungalow style, gives the building quite a handsome appearance, and it should be an acquisition to the town.
