CORRESPONDENCE.
TURUA SCHOOL WATER
CTo the Editor.! Sir, —In your publication of the Bth inst. a meeting of the Turua Ratepayers’ Association is reported, and a paragraph in regard to school water supply reads : "Mr Truelove said that the school, children called at hie shop for a drink of water, as in their opinion the water was riot fit to drink.” What I said was that the children asked me for water, as they did not like the water at the school. Also, "The tanks had not been cleaned out for a long time.” I did not mention that the tanks had not been cleaned out. I am not in a position to make such a statement. I pointed out that it was necessary that the tanks should be kept clean, as the water went through a bucket containing a (strainer which, if foul, the water would have to percolate through. Would you please correct your report, which is unfair to me and very unfair to the School Committee, who I know have worked very hard to get the school in the good condition it is in now. I have seen the school water, and it seems as good as any tank Water. Trusting you will clear this, in fairness to the School Committee and myself. F. N. TRUELOVE.
