GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. tonight. THE PHANTOM HORSEMAN. When a man is willing to go as far for a woman as Bob Winton went for Dorothy Mason you are bound .to admit that "this is love I” What happened .when Bob Winton surrendered himself to the law for a crime committed by another? You’ll find the answer unfolded in breathless and exciting moments at the Gaiety Theatre to-night, when Jack Hoxie, famous star of outdoor romances, appears in Universal's attraction, “The Phantom Horseman.” SATURDAY NIGHT. WITHIN THE LAW. Marriage as a unique means of obtaining revenge is employed by Norma Talmadge as the heroine in the powerful First National picture, “Within the. Law,” to be shown tomorrow night. But it isn’t any revenge against her unsuspecting lover that Mary Turner, played by Miss Talmadge, seeks ; her wrath is aimed at Dick’s father, Edward Gilder, for having caused her to serve ajn’ison term for a crime she did not commit. The stigma follows her out of prison and she turns adventuress, specialising in breach of promise suits. She takes advantage of art opportunity that presents itself when she meets Dick Gilder following a faked drowning. He succumbs to her wiles and they are married. But Mary’s “revenge” loses its flavour when she discovers she loves her husband. Jack Mulhall plays the role of Dick Gilder, the husband. THE CAMPBELL BOYS; In addition to the picture programme for to-morrow the Campbell Bovs are billed to present a refreshing and original, act that has the merit of being suitable to all tastes. DAIRY STAFF BALL. GAIETY THEATRE, MONDAY NEXT. What promises to be one ofi the events of this year will be held in the Gaiety Theatre, Paeroa, on Monday evening, when the staff of the local branch of the N.Z. Co-op. Dairy Co. will hold a grand ball. The Morrinsville Jazz Band has been engaged to supply the dance music, and a substantial sit-down supper is being provided. A strong committee has matters well in hand to ensure a thoroughly enjoyable evening being spent. Tickets are on sale from members of the staff, and the price asked for admi,sion may be considered very reasonable for such ah event as a ball.
