JERSEY BREEDERS.
THAMES VALLEY CLUB. A meeting of the Thames Valley Jersey Breeders’ Club was held in the N.Z. Dairy Co.’s board-room on Saturday morning, the president, Mr B. E. Veale, presiding over Messrs G. Buchanan, E. J. Walters, J. Morrison, H. J. Harris, and M. Crimmins. FORTHCOMING SALE. The president explained that the meeting had been called to finalise arrangements in connection with the club’s second annual, sale, to be held at Hikutaia on October 16. He stated that sixty entries of Jersey pedigree cattle had been received, and that the catalogues were in the hands of the "Hauraki Plains Gazette,” delivery to be made by September 27. The matter of advertising the sale in the “Gazette” was left in the hands of the president and secretary, with power to act. It was agreed to leave the advertising in other papers to be arranged by the auctioneers. RESIGNATION OF SECRETARY. The secretary pro. tem., Mr H. J. Harris, asked to be relieved of his duties as soon as possible, as owing to the distance he lived, from Paeroa he could not fill the position satisfactorily. It was decided to accept the resignation with regret and to record the club’s appreciation of Mr Harris’ efforts and enthusiasm during the time he had held the position. Mr W. L. Lawrence was appointed to fill the vacancy.
SOUTH AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. Mr G. Buchanan reported having had a conversation with Mr R. Clarke, Hamilton, secretary of the South Auckland Jersey Breeders’ Association. He learned that the annual conference of the New Zealand Association was to be held in Hamilton in June next, and suggested that members should keep the date in view and make a special effort to attend the conference.
