Mr W. F. North returned to Paeroa this morning after spending an enjoyable six weeks’ holiday in Australia. Mr H. Small, district attendance examination officer under the Auckland Education Board, is at present in Paeroa, and is engaged looking into cases of children’s non-attendance, at school. Mr C. N. O’Neill, solicitor, left Paeroa last evening for Wellington to represent the members of the Netherton Ratepayers’ Association and state their case in opposition to the Hauraki Plains Empowering BiU, which is to be brought before a special committee of the House this week.
