MAIL SERVICE ROUTE.

PROTEST FROM KEREPEEHI. PROTEST FROM KEREPESHI. A very strong protest was voiced at a public meeting of Kerepeehi residents on Friday evening against any alteration in the existing route by which the mails come to the district. Arguments similar to those voiced at Ngatea and published in the “Gazette’’ were mentioned, and in addition it was pointed out that settlers on the newly established rural mail delivery service would have their correspondence delayed two days should the route be diverted to via Thames. It was generally accepted that any alteration would be a backward step, and it was decided to send a letter to the Postmaster-General, the Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, anti Mr H. Poland .member for the district, emphatically protesting against any change.
