DISTRICT NEWS.

TURUA. A HARD-UP DANCE. A “hard-up” dance was organised by the Hauraki Plains Athletic and Sports Club and held in the Victoria Hall, Turua, on Wednesday. There were about 30 couples present, and a fair number appeared in “hard-lp" costume. Those who were not were fined a nominal penalty. Good dance music,was supplied by Mrs Mules and Mrs Goodsell, and a very enjoyable evening was spent.
