SERIOUS CHARGE.
ATTEMPTED RAPE ALLEGED. At trie Police Court, Paeroa, yesterday 'morning, before Mr B. Gwilliam, J.P., a, middle-aged man named John Angus Campbell, farmer, was charged with alleged assault with intent to commit rape on August 23 at his residence, near Paeroa. Mr E. W. Porritt appealed for the accused. On the application of the police a remand was granted until September 3 Bail was allowed, himself in £lOO and one surety of £lOO.
