BASKET BALL.

CONVENT COMPETITION, GAMES AT PAEROA. On Friday last the Waihi and Thames Convent School teams visited the local convent and an interesting and enjoyable competition took place, resulting in a final win for Waihi. in the first game Paeroa rather easily defeated Thames, the scores being 18 to 2. The second contest was between Thames and Waihi, the latter winning by 3to 1. In the final Waihi defeated Paeroa by 6 to 4 after a very exciting game. Paeroa Convent has now played four games this year, the scores being : Paeroa Convent 20, v. Karangahake 1 ; Paeroa Convent 5, v. Paeroa Public School 2 ; and the two games on Fnday resulting as stated above.
