ENTERTAINMENTS

TONIGHT. THE EXILE. Richard Harding Davis, the eminent American journalist and novelist, is the author of ‘‘The Exiles," the motion picture produced by William Fox, with John Gilbert starred, to be screened at the Gaiety Theatre tonight. One is privileged to witness intimate New York court proceedings and proximate views of the seraglios of Tangiers, Africa. There is variety in wetting and story events. Lavish and fast, the scenes move amid situations marked by good performing. Frod. Warren, Margaret Fielding, Betty Bouton, and John Webb Dillon are the supporting east, each making his individual bit stand out conspicuously as a notable piece of acting. THE MIRA.NO BROS. THE FLYING TORPEDO. Never before, it is asserted, have local amusement lovers seen such remarkably clever performers ae the Mirano Troupe, who will appear at the Gaiety Theatre on Wednesday night. Strength, dexterity, and astounding daring arc combined in the act,, and the artists go to an ex. treme length to make their work ef> fective. In feat number onio a miniature Eiffel Tower is erected on the stage, with an arm across the top, at one end of which is a torpedo-shaped airship, and at the other an anchor. The airship is driven round the tower at tenific speed, whilst one member of the troupe performs a number of almost incredible feats of spine-chill ' ing daring on the anchor. Mere woijds, we are told, fail to convey the wcnidef < ful nature of this feat alone. Then there >6 the ‘‘loop the loop, ' perfoi Hied by the aerial.ist’s own efforts. High above the heads of patrons the performer works a revolving trapeze to a position that he, being for a second suspei ded head down, but later efforts carry him full over. It is as amazing as it is spectacular. The box plan is open at Flatt’s.
