BENEVOLENT FUND.
ANKUAL MEETING AT PAEROA. Tlie annual meeting was held in the Borough Chambers last evening, when His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) presided. The balance-sheet for tlie year showed that the income consisted of interest £1 10s sd,' and donation from the Paeroa Rugby Union £ll 13s. Grants to deserving cases amounted to £lO, and general expenses £1 2s, leaving a fairly substantial balance to credit The report, which contained a detailed account of the workings of the organisation for last year was, with the balance-sheet, adopted. A vote of thankg was passed to the Paeroa Rugby Union for its cheque of £ll 13s, being the proceeds of its Chari ity Saturday match at the end of last football season. Officers for the ensuing year werj elected as follows: President, His Worship the Mayor; Committee, Messrs P. E. Brenan, W. J. Towers, J. Coupe:, F. E. Flatt, Mrs Poland, and Mi«is Shaw. Miss Shaw was elected secretary.
