MANUAL SCHOOL.
BUILDINGS FOR PAEROA. CABINET APPROVES OF A GRANT. After many years ot persistent bat-, tling and various deputations to the Minister of Education, both in Paeroa and Wellington, Cabinet has at last realised the need for a manual Gaining building for pupils in Paeroa. At the beginning of this month Mr E. E. Gillman, chairman of the local District High School Committee, went to Wellington, where, with the assistance of Mr H. Poland, M.P., an interview with the Hon. C. J. Parr was obtained. Mr Gillman, well armed with facts and figures, again brought before the Minister the absolute necessity of establishing a manual training centre at Paeroa. The Minister promised to favourably consider the proosition, and advise the committee in due course. Yesterday morning Messrs Gillman and Poland received the following telegram from the Hon. C. J. Parr: “I nave pleasure in informing you that a grant has been made by Cabinet lor a manual training and cookery centre at Paeroa.’ It is needless to say that the Cabinets's favourable recognition of the just claims of Paeroa as a training centre for the rising generation is very gratifying.
