ROLL OF HONOUR.
N.Z. EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. Major Andrews, of the local Defence office, had received from the Government printer the official Roil of Honour of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The book, which is open for inspection at the Defence Office, contains the date on which every soldier was killed or died from wounds inflicted. accident occurring, or disease contracted while on active service, iri training, or after discharge. In all 18,166 deaths of members of the N.Z.E.F. were recorded up to December 31, 1923. Of this number 16,697 died while on active service, 964 after discharge, and 505 while undergoing training in New Zealand. Ic the Gallipoli theatre 2721 .soldiers died; France and Belgium shows a total of 12,483, Palestine 381, Egypt 259, and in the United Kingdom and at other places and at sea the total was 853.
