ENTERTAINMENTS

TO-NIGHT. THE VICTOR. Herbert Rawlinson appears in one of the most entertaining pictures of his screen career as the Hon. Fitz in the Universal sport play, “The Victor,’’ which will be screened at the Gaiety Theatre to-night. The story is woven around the experiences of a young Englishman who was sent to America by hi,s father, a nobleman, to marry a millionairess. The thing sounds simple enough, but an amazing lot of entertainment is developed from the theme. He forsakes the monocle and the spats for the ring togs when liunger forces him to go to work. It is comedy, but well balanced with re.a) human interest drama. In support are Dorothy Manners as the millionairess, and Esther Ralston, the actress who ultimately married the Hon. Fitz. SATURDAY NIGHT. THE CAVE GIRL. In the First National picture "The Cave Girl” the producers have staged a magnificent drama, in the gorgeous scenery of the Yosemite Valley, taken from the famous stage comedy drama by Guy Bolton and George Middleton. After reigning as queen of London and Paris for the last two years Teddic Gerard returns and takes the leading role. It is a picture of thrills and fun—one that will awe with Its grandeur, entice with its subtle humour, and sweep into ecstasies with its tense climaxes of silent trails and rushing waters. Charles Meredith is the leading man. It is a feature of action and individuality, one in which you will remember subtle characterisation and the goigeous exteriors Ipng after the film has been wound up.
