KILLED BY FALLING TREE.
BACHELOR’S LONELY REATH. FATALITY NEAR PATETONGA. A middle-aged man named E. F. T. Patoky. who resided alone on his farm on the hills behind Patetonga, was crushed by a tree he had felled some time on Friday last. He was found in an unconscious condition during the afternoon and died during the evening Apparently he had been running to get away from the falling tree and had become entangled in the supplejacks.
Mr Patoky, who was a native Of Poland, was well known and respected in Patetonga, and was president of the football club. The club cancelled its matches for Saturday as a mark of respect.
