BLSI.XUSS .'LAN E.VrUIIT.UNEU. About a dozen intimate friends of Mr W. Fleming paid a surprise visit to his residence, Hill Street, Paeroa, on Monday evening to wisn him an revoir and bon voyage. The evening was spent in -song and story, and a lengthy toast list was honoured. During the evening Mr A. Steedman, on behalf of the.gathering; presented Mi Fleming with a handsome travelling rug as a slight token of the esteem in wlvcli he is held in the community, avd hearty good wishes were ex pressed by the gathering that he would have an enjoyable and interesting trip and return again safely io Paeroa. Mr Fleming suitably responded, expressing his thanks to the party for their handsome token, which he assured them would be highly valued. Mr Fleming leaves Paeroa by this evenii g’s train for Auckland, where he joins the Marama for Sydney, en route to Great Britain and the Unite ! States He expects to be absent from Paeroa for about eight months.
