Mr W. F. Marsh, Commissioner if Crown Lands, Auckland, was in Paeroa yesterday, and conferred with His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) on boiough matters affecting the closing of certain streets in connection with the proposed hospital. The question c 1" obtaining an area of Crown land for a municipal reserve was also considered. The many friends of Mr W. North, jti'ir., will be sorry to learn that he is at present an inmate of the Waihi Hospital, where he underwent a serious operation on Thursday last. H“ is now making satisfactory progress towards recovery.
