The many friends of Captain cl. Peacock will be pleased to learn that he has so far recovered from his long illness that he was able to return fnm the Thames Hospital to his home on Wednesday last.
Mr H. M. Shand left Paeroa on Wed iicsday to attend the annual meeting of the N.Z. Rugby Union at Wellington as delegate from the Thames Valley Union.
Messrs W. E. Spencer, inspector of school buildings for the Education Department, Wellington, A. Savage, chief architect to the Department, and D, W. Dunlop, advisory inspector to the Beard, Auckland, are at preseat making a tour of inspection of the schools in this district, and were in Paeroa yesterday. They left for Waini this morning, and will afterwards proceed to Te Aroha and MorrPnsville, inspecting wayside schools en route.
