POWER BOARD WORKS.

HAUBAKI PLAINS SECTION. ENGINEERS’ REPORT. Included in the engineers’ report presented to the meeting of the Thames Valley Power Board at Te Aroha yesterday was- the following concerning the Hauraki Plains section :— Orchard East Road. —The 11,0'00 • volt line on this section is now completed and the low tension wiring, service lines, and post and telegraph protection finished. A 10-k.v.a. transforms station has been erected, and tlm line was made alive on March 26 A low tension branch off this main line was completed together with the service lines.

Ngatea-Pipiroa,—Poles in connection with this 11,000-volt line are now being parted out from Rawerawe Road wharf and deposited at the various pegs. About four miles have been laid out, and cross-arming will start within the next few days. A number of the new transformers which recently arrived have now been installed in this section of the area, and in some cases have replaced transformers of a smaller capacity, the alterations being necessary owing to increased loading.

An application, accompanied by plan, has been forwarded to tlie Marine Department hi connection with the installation of an 11,000-volt three core submarine cable which it is proposed to lay in the bed of the river -it Pipiroa.
