CROQUET.

On Thursday afternoon last a team of nine croquet players journeyed from Thames aind took part in an inxer-club game against the local players. Luncheon was provided at the tea-rooms, and a delicious aftet--noon tea was served on the lawn under the shade df the trees near th? pavilion. An enjoyable day was spent, and it drew to a colse all too quickly, the visitors having to catch the Thames express at 3.30 p-m. The semes at the call of time were even.

To-morrow the local club intends paying a visit to Te Aroha, where an inter-club match will be played.
