A subsidy could only be granted in a case where a hospital had been decided upon and money was being raised for immediate expenditure. It seemed that it would be many years before a hospital was required at Kerepeehi, as there was good communicaiton with the Thames Hospital. The board hoped to have someone instructed soon in the use of the high tension ’phone at Wh.orepoa corner, so that communication could be established at any time with the depot. It was decided to draw the attention of. Mr Willy and the manager of the board to the fact that the telephone at the Wharcpoa corner was not yet in operation.
