CROQUET.

One of the most enjoyable afternoons held this year took place on the Paeroa croquet lawn on YVednesday afternoon last, when the club’s president, Mrs Conolly, entertained the members to aftenoon tea and a break croquel competition, for which prizes were given. . A delicious afternoon ten was handed round and much appreciated. The winners of the A competition proved to be Mrs W. J. Towers, while Mrs Somervell and Mrs Taiboys tied for first honours in the B grade. At the conclusion of the games Mrs Towers, on behalf of the members, warmly thanked Mrs Conolly for her efforts in promoting such an enjoyable afternoon’s pleasure, and assured her the members much appreciated hep hospitality.
