PLAINS SPORTS CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of 1 the Hauraai Plains Athletic and Sports Club was held in the Turua Buildings on Monday evening. Mr J. W, Chapman presiding over a small atendance.

The statement of receipts and expenditure for the sports meeting held on January 26 showed a loss of £3l 17s su. compared with £2B OS 4d for the previous meeting.

The principal items were as follows, Hie figures for the previous year being given in parenthesis. Membersubsci iptions £56 8s 6d (£66 4s 6d), nomim.lions £35 His 6d (£4l ss). gales £22 5s (£25 6s Ild), books £3 8s (£4 is 9d), booth £5O 10s 3d (£5B). Total receipts £l7B 13s 3d (£224 15s 8d). Expenditure: Stakes £lOB (£ll7 11s 8d), printing .mb advertising £32 13s 6d (£23 18s), blocks £lO (£11), booth £4O 3s Bd. Total, £213 10s 8d (£250 3s 3d. Social functions and a r-icnic held Social functions and a picnic held during the year had resulted in a profit of £35 3s Bd. There were a few small sums yet to be received. Members expressed the opinion that the balance-sheet showed a satisfactory position, and it was adopted subject to audit.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Mr T. White : vice-presidents, Messrs G. Porteous and F. Goodsell ; committee. Messrs G. Gray. T. White, J. W. Chapman, G. Porteous. J. H. Johnson, A. Walker, J. T. Davies, F. Stevens, FOlsen, J. Gibson, F. Goodsell, H. Hill. J. Bonnett, S. Williams, W. ©lvin (junr.). F. N. Truelove, W. Johnson, with power to add; secretary, Mr T. Gibson ; treasurer, Mr J. T. Davies. Mr Chapman then thanked th' J members for their co-operation and assistance during his term of office, and vacated the chair after receiving a vote of thanks. Tt was decided not to run regular dance-s. but to .have two balls during the season, one on the Thursday nearest the full moon in May and the other at the end of the season. Tt was decided to hold the annual ladies picnic on Saturday. April 5. Mr Chapman reported that Mr Olsen had promised to give a picture show on March 25 for the benefit of the sports ground fund.
