Athletics.—A. Porritt, who is continuin: his studies at Oxford, will probaoly be nominated for the and R A. Rose (subject to being pro“ nounced medically fit and funds being available) will represent the Dornin- — - ion in the distance events. Rowing.—The following were nominated . -C. A. Healy. W. Ryland, H. Sharpe, and W. Coombes C. J. Adams, it S. Groudis E. Hegghim, and W. Pinkham (Blenheim), and W Sergison (Christchurch). It was resolved, subject to funds being'available, to send a rowing eight, together with a coach. Mr Bayfield expressed the opinion that should an eight go forward they would hold their own with the world’s best. Mr Davies stated that although P. Munro had been nominated by the N.Z.A.A.A. for athletics, he had announced that he would not be in a position to accept. The chairman said the strength cf the team would depend largely upon the success of the art union, as it would require approximately £4OO to finance each representative sent.
