ODDFELLOWSHIP.

loyal jubilee lodge. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Loyal jubilee Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., Paeroa, was held isat week, N.G. Bro. J. Morrison presiding over a good attendance of officers and brethren. The annual report stated that a record for the lodge had been established during the year in the initiation of new members. Commencing the year with 55, the membership was increased to 81—28 new members by initiation, 5 struck off by arrears, and one death. ■ A valiant attempt was made to increase the number to 100 members, so as to enable the lodge to send two delegates to the annual conference, but although the required > number was not reached, it was anticipated that early this year a further increase ■ of members would eventuate. Attention was drawn to tiie number who had seceded by arrears, and were asked to !' try and keep themselves financial on the lodge records. Reference was . made to the death of Bro. A. Tetley, who died in the early part of 1923. Bro. Tetley had been a stalwart supporter of the lodge at all times, and the condolences of the members were extended to the relatives. Dealing with the balance-sheet, the financial secretary said that it was a matter for congratulation to record that every one of the nine accounts of the lodge showed a substantial credit balance. It was decided to forward £25 from the Sick and Funeral Fund to district headquarters for investment, and also £lO from the-Hospital Fund. The matter of holding meetings in the Druids’ Hall, instead of in the Centenary Hall, as at present, was deferred for a month to enable further particulars to be.obtained from the Druids' Lodge. It was suggested that the incoming officers might arrange a series of social evenings during the year, and that foreign lodges should be invited, thereby stimulating interest in Friendly Society work. | The following officers were elected. Y Trustees, P.G. Bros. C. A. Stembridge and G. Fallon ; secretary, P.G. Bro. W. North ; treasurer, I.P.N.G. Bro. W. L. Lawrence. Euolgistic references were accorded Bro. North bn the splendid work done by him during the three years that he had held the office of financial secretary, and congratulations were extended to him on his re-election to the position. It was unanimously decided that the salary of the financial secretary should be increased to Is 6d per member per quarter. The election of a delegate to the annual conference in March next was deferred till next lodge meeting.
