Mr and Mrs J. P. Gamble and fanfl|£. ily returned, to Paeroa this morning 3 after an extended holiday at St. 1 Helier’s. We regret to record the death of Mr Alf red Griffen Rendell, which took place at his residence at Morrinsvill’ on Tuesday last. For the past four years Mr Rendell had been assistant ■ master at the Morrinsville School, He was some time ago teaching at the Paeroa District High School, where he made himself very popular. About eleven days prior tp his deatn he contracted a cold, which developed into double pneumonia, and de- _ spite careful nursing and medical attention, he gradually sank and passed away at the age of 36 years. He leaves a widow and two children.
