PAEROA DOMAIN BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING- V ■ — The monthly meeting of the Paeroa Domain Board was held on. Thursday evening last, ’His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) presiding. BOWLING GREEN. The Paeroa Bowling Club wrote that in view of the extra play on the green at nights that more attention - should be given to the green, and that in future it should be cut and ; rolled on Saturday mornings ins, teal of Fridays, as has been the custom in the past. A request was also _ made that the green Should be -top-Jf, dressed, and the necessary soil procured at once. The letter stated that it was now several years since any top-dressing had been done. Mr J. W. Silcock'said that he had interviewed the green superintendent and that the cutting and rolling of green would in future be done on Saturday mornings. With regard to ton-dreslsing, which would not be necessary for the next three months, this would involve the expenditure of between £4O and £5O. It was' suggested that the Board should go further into the matter and submit a report for consideration by the Council. The Board agreed to pay for assist- a anee for the superintendent on Sat- J" ur lay mornings. It wals decided that the bowling- - should be thoroughly watered during Saturday nights and Sunday ; mornings, when the demand on the- : town water supply was not so great owing to a less amount being used by the Railway Department. - Mr Marshall said that any extra work done to the bowling green would • have to bo paid for by the club, as-it . was not fair to expect the ratepayers to find money for the purpose. CROQUET LAWN. Mr Silcock reported that the croquet lawn was in an unsatisfactory condition, and the grass required renewing'in some portfe. He suggested that the matter be gone into later on, and in the meantime greater at- ~ te-.ition should be given to cutting and watering the grass.
