ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN.

* AUCKLAND PARTY’S VISIT. OPPORTUNITY TO BOOM PAEROA. With a view to advertising the Waikato and Thames Valley districts the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the business men of that town arc arranging for a party representing the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and merchants to undertake a comprehensive motor tour and visit all the towns cn route, as well as the country surrounding them. The Waihi borough has been in communication with .the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, and, as a result, it has been arranged for the party to inelude Waihi in it? itinerary. So far it appears that Paeroa is not taking any active steps in the mattei, and as the touring party must pass through this, town it would bn a golden opportunity for the local institutions to interest themselves in the matter and, if possible, have Paeroa included in the tour. A short motor run round the district adjacent to our town would serve to show the Auckland representatives the wonderful productivity and generally prosperous state of our surroundings. The unique position of Paeroa as th? natural centre of such a large and fertile tract of dairying country could be pointed out, and also the fact that our town has- a rosy future ahead of it and that it must develop and grow could be brought under the notice of the party. To a large number of outsiders Paeroa. is still looked on as an old wprked-out mining town, with little or no future ahead of it. A chance is now affored to correct these erroneous impressions., and it will be a thousand pities if our local people do not seize this opportunity of booming the town and district. During the past two years, particularly, Paeroa has made undoubted progress, and this year promises to eclipse former efforts when it is considered the number of important works that are to be taken in hand ini the immediate future.

Egotism does not commend itself, but our people might well take the opportunity of placing facts and figures as to progress before the public when it occurs, and the result must benefit our town and district. The local borough council, headed by the Mayor, is doing its best to foster progressive policies, and it is to be hoped that its hearty co-operation will be accorded the Chamber of Commerce and Business Men’s Association, and that arrangements will be made to have Paeroa included in the tour.
