Some very good catches have been made by local sportsmen this seasonThe fish are all in very good condition, and bite very readily. PHEASANTS. . Hen pheasants were reported l to be plentiful, and it was decided tp obtain some cock-birds if possible. The secretary stated that the'society had been offered one- bird’ from the nurseries, and members indulged in many humorous remarks as to the disposal of this lonely bird. The breeding season is progressing Satisfactorily, members reporting that several large clutches of pheasants had been seen. One family of thirteen' was reported to be doing very well. Quail are also doing well, many young families having been seen.
