GREETINGS.
GOOD FELLOWSHIP AMONG COUNCILLORS. As yesterday’s meeting was the l*st one of the Ohinemuri County Council for the year the opportunity was taken to express seasonal greetings. The chairman said that the past year had been a particularly arduous one for local bodies, but he was proud to state that he considered the council had pulled through very creditably, and he wished to thank the councillors and engineer and staff for their ■loyal co-operation and valuable services rendered. Cr. H.' M. Corbett replied, thanking .the- chairman for the kind wishes, which were heartily reciprocated. On behalf of the councillors Cr. Corbett congratulated the chairman on the various works and improvements that had been carried out, and referred to the large amount of time and energy devoted by the chairman in furthering the interests of the county. He paid special tribute to the loyal services of the clerk, Mr R. W. Evans, who had put in over. 19 years in the council’s service, as also had the engineer, Mr E. Shaw. It was very gratifying ,to the councillors to enjoy the co-operation and loyal , help of the staff over such a long period. -
