PERSONAL
Mr Harold Hill, of Auckland, will be spending Christmas with Mr R. W. Evans at “The Wilderness,” and will sing twp of the tenor solos from “The Messiah” at St. Paul’s Church on Christmas night. Mr E. Chester, who was unfortunate enough last week to have his left thumb torn off while putting the belt on the milking machine, is reported to be progressing favourably at the Thames Hospital. Mr S. J. Bishop, who will most likely be leaving the school in the near future to take up a headCfastership at Mercury Bay school, was the recipient of a brace of Loewe pipes, presented to him by Mr W. H. Taylor on behalf of the teachers of the school. After Mr G. H. Taylor, headmaster, while congratulating Mr Bishos on his promotion, had expressed his appreciation of the -good work done by Mr Bishop while a teacher at the school, the latter suitably implied, expressing his regret at severing his connection with the school. Mr Bishop was also presented with a handsome silver inkstand by the pupils in his class as a token of their appreciation of the help and consideration extended to them throughout the year.
