Building permits to the value of £3004 have been granited by the Paeroa Borough Council during the month. At the Borough Council meeting last evening seasonal greetings were extended to His Worship the Mayor and the Mayoress by the councillors. Cr. Edwards eulogised the tremendous amount of good work that had been undertaken during his short terms of office, and trusted that he would return from his holidays with renewed vigoui- to carry on the good work. The Mayor thanked the council for its kind wishes, which, he said, were much appreciated. In turn he wished to express his grateful thanks to the staff for the loyal help given, and also to the press, and he wished them all a "Happy Christmas and a Bright and Prosperous New Year.”
It was decided at last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council that the foreman should make arrangements to vacate the present area of land rented by the borough for use as a yard before the end of December, and that the owner of the land be notified to that effect. The Mayor said that it was possible to utilise the new yard at the new fire station site.
