POWER BOARD WORKS.

MONTHLY STATEMENTS, MANAGER’S REPORT. The manager’s report to the Thames Valley Power Board for the month was read ati yesterday’s meeting, and included the following .— “Troublemen.—lt will be necessary to consider the revision of troubleman in the Matamata district owing to the big connected load in that area. 1 have gone into this with Mr Wrigley, and recommend that a further troubleman be appointed at Matamata. The position would then be that a man would be stationed at Waharoa who would control Waharoa, Walton, Waghorn, and Alexandra roads. This arrangement should mee: all demands in the Matamata district. ‘Kopu Siding.—l interviewed the Railway authorities in Auckland with reference to the charges for Kopu sid’ng during the month. There is a letter before you this day agreeing to waive the charge of £97 for repairs, which is quite satisfactory. "Turua.—With reference to the street lighting wires at Turua, there is a recommendation from the executive on the matter. ‘‘Cars. —The foreman’s car at Matamata is now being repaired, and will be converted into a half-ton truck. “Increased Flat Rate Charges. The notification, as required by the Public Works Department’s regulations, with regard to the 50 per cent, increase in the flat rate lighting charges has been sent to all the consumers in the area. These charges wi’l operate from January 1, 1924. • Power Boards’ Association. —During the month the chairman went to Wellington to attend an executive meeting of the Power Boards’ Association, and a report of the business transacted at the meeting is in the general correspondence. It will he necessary to confirm the chairman’s action. "Poles.—The Louis Theriault arrived at Kopu on November 26, after a passage of 17 d,ays. AH the poles will be discharged from the boat by the end of the week. “Consumers. —The consumers to date are 2311, which includes 738 milking motors. This does not include other motors 'or Thames or Te Aroha boroughs. It is anticipated that a further 25 2h.p. milking motors will be connected during December. Ninety-five consumers were connected during the month of November.” ENGINEERS’ REPORT. The engineers’ report contained the following:— Waikino—High ’ and low tension wiring on this section was completed during the month and the sub-main-ing and connecting up of consumer, is proceeding. A 25-k.v.a. 11,000-415 volts transformer, with the necessary control gear, was erected and made alive on November 23, giving supply to consumers connected Three st’ - eet. lamps were also put into service on that date. Hauraki Plains Section.—The high and low tension wiring on the Kopuarahi 11,000-volt line, and also, the local service lines, were completed during the month. A 101-k.v.a. transformer, 11,000-415 volts, complete with control gear, was erected, and the supply should be given in a few days. A 5-k.v.a. transformer, 11,000415 volts, has been erected at Horahia Road corner. The wiring and service mains on the Horahia Road low tension branch line have been completed and are now ready for service. The wiring and installation of 10 additional street lamps in the Turua township have been completed, and the lamps were put into service on November 16. A low tension line is being erected at Ngatea on the Waitakaruru road to give a local supply.
