KARANGAHAKE.
: football. At a meeting of the Kar.angahake Football Club on Friday evening last a ballot was taken to determine the tvinner of the medal donated by Mr Hibbs for the most improved player during the past season. The decision went to M. McLeod, who received the congratulations of his fellow playersACCIDENT. Whilst working at the quarry on Saturday morning last Mr M. Remington met with a painful accident through a fall of stone crushing his hand rather seriously, necessitating both medical and hospital treatment. His many friends will wish him a speedy recovery. TENNIS. Notwithstanding the threatening nature of the weather a large gatheriig took part in the opening of the tennis courts on Saturday afternoon last. Although some work still requires to be done at the courts a very enjoyable afternoon’s sport was indulged in, and the enthusiasm displayed by the players augurs well for a successful season. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies to whom the thanks of the club is due for the work of preparing such a dainty repast. PICTURES. Last Saturday evening was the last evening pf the pictures under the present management. It isi understood the plant is to be offered by auction at an early date. SCHOOL PICNIC. At a meeting of the school committee held in the Miners’ Union Hall on Monday evening it was decided to hoM the annual school picnic at Te Aroha on December 13.
