BOWLING.
PLAY BY NIGHT. OPENING TO-MORROW EVENING. A new era in the history of the Paeroa Bowling Club will commence to -morrow evening, when His Worshin the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) will formally switch on the electric lights over the rinks. It is scarcely seven weeks since the bowling club held a meeting and decided to seek the cooperation of the Borough Council and Domain Board and go in for electric light installation on the greens. The local bodies accorded support in a no uncertain manner, and together with a strong committee -from the bowling club, led by bhe energetic secretary, M> G. H. Taylor,-they have brought ■the scheme to fruition in a very short time. It is expected that there will be a large gathering of bowler.s and the general public present to-morrow-evening to take part in the auspicious ceremony. Last evening six of the lights were tried put>, and a few heads played to test the power of the lights, and the committee has expressed entire satisfaction with the work. The club is to be commended for its enterprise, and it i,s hoped that the project will be a success in every way and that many enjoyable evenings will be spent on the rinks.
