PERSONAL.
Mr S. J. McKenzie, Assistant en-gineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, and Messrs F. C. Widdop and A. Koch, Superintendent engineer and District Engineer, respectively, of the Railways Department, were in Paeroa yesterday on departmental business in connection with the new railway station for Paeroa. Mr Leo Foster, of Paeroa, was successful in obtaining two first prizes in the vocal section at the Cambridge Musical Competitions last week. Mr Faster was also awarded a gold medal for obtaining the highest marks in the gentlemen’s vocal section.
