ST. JOHN’S AMBULANCE.
LOCAL PASSES. Dr. Gilbert Smith has been delivering lectures in first aid to the teachers and others at the Paeroa High School for the past two months. Last week an examination was held, and the results are very gratifying, and Dr. Smith is to be congratulated an the success of his class. Unfortunately two teachers were unable to attend the examination owing to influenza. The following are the results : — Passed first class, Misses W. E. Sutton and Merle Byrne. Passed in First Aid, Misses J. Mclntyre and Florence Halligan and Mr G. Royal. Passed final for medallion, Mrs G. H. Taylor. At the close of the lectures Miss Sutton, on behalf of the class, made a presentation to Dr. Smith and thanked him for his able lectures and the trouble he had taken to impress upon them the principle of First AidDr. Smith has given his. services free for many years as lecturer for St. John’s Ambulance Association.
