The Thames Valley Rugby Union wrote stating that the Thames Rugby Union had invited the Valiey team to Thames on September 22, the matca to be returned early next, year, and asked the opinion of the sub-union. On the motion of Mr Shand it was decided that owing to the lateness of the .season, and the matter of finance, it would be inadvisable to send a team down this year. Owing to the result of tfie junior match last Saturday the junior competition was closed. Tlie referee of the Netherton v. Suburbs match last Saturday reported that the Suburbs, team had defaulted. No advice of default had been given to the secretary of the union. It was decided to enforce the fine of 10s 6d. The referee’s expenses were passed for payment. In connection with the trip to Rotorua, it was decided .that each player pay into the union £2 before being allowed to travel, and that each player be reimbursed pro rata to the extent of receipts over expenses. It was moved that it be a recommendation to the selector that players who travelled to Ngatea be given preference in selecting the team for Roterua, unless a good excuse for absence was given.
