THAMES HARBOUR.
BOARD REPRESENTATION. A MEMBER FOR PAEROA. When the Harbour Bill w»s passing through the committee stage on Mbnday Mr H. Poland pointed out to the Hon. G. J. Anderson,, Minister in Charge, that the Borough of Paeroa was not represented on the Thames Harbour Board, although vitally interested in the harbour district. Hpn. G. J. Anderson: How would you put it in ? Would you include it with Waihi ? Mr Poland: No, I would increase the membership by one. The Hon. G. J. Anderson agreed that Paeroa should have representation. Mr Poland pointed out that Paeroa was 15 miles nearer Thames than Te Aroha. It was agreed that .the Thames Harbour Board should comprise nine members, one appointed by the Government,, two representing the counties of Thames and Ohinemuri, one representing Piako, one Paeroa Borough, one Te Aroha, one Waihi, t,wo representing Thames Borough, and one representing the payers of harbour dues.
