PERSONAL.
Mr Leslie May, who has been assistant engineer, with headquarters at paeroa,. has been promoted to resident engineer in the Public Worksservice. Captains E. A. Porritt, M.C., and H. Peacock, Lieutenant W. L. Lawrence, and Corporals Nield, McAnnelly, and R. Smith returned on Saturday from Narrow Neck Camp,, where they have beejn attending a special course of Lewis-gun instruction. Lieut. H. A. Lewis, of B Company, Hauraki Regiment (Thames), is visiting Paeroa to day, and is sitting for the examination for promotion to captain. The examination is being held at the local Defence Office.
