GOLF.
The second round of the Hanna Shields ’ competition for this season was played on handicap, over 12 holes, on Saturday, and resulted in a tie between Dales and Mrs Miller and O’Neill and Mrs Peacock. The following were the net scores : — Mrs Peacock and O’Neill 54, Mrs Miller and Dales 54, Mrs Andrews and Towers 56, Mrs Edwards and Miller 57, Miss Poland and Hedge 60, Miss Thorp and Topliss 60, Mrs Topliss and Kenny 67. Mr J. Watt, the club coach, will not visit Paeroa again this season. It is hoped to secure his services as usual next year. Next Saturday a match on the local links is being arranged with Waihi. Ttie following players will represent Paeroa: — Men ._H. s. Budd, R. L. Miller, WR. Dales, N. G. Somervell, A. Steedman, J. L. Hanna, A. Gorrie, S. I. Bishop, I. Towers, C. Kenny, S. J. Hedge. Ladies.—Mrs R. L. Miller, Miss F. Walmsley, Miss L. Thorp, Mrs F. SBudd, Miss D. Poland, Mrs J. Silcock, Miss E., Walmsley, Mrs E. Edwards. Play will be over 18 holes, and will commence at 1.45 p.m. sharp. Lady members ofi the club please note that afternoon tea will be general.
