HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd.,, report: At Hamilton on Tuesday we had a full yarding of sheep and pigs. Beef was in brisk demand, values especially Tor prime quality advancing substantially. Ox beef made from £lO 10s to £l2 9s for heavy weights, medium from £8 to £9 15s, light weights £6 to £6 15s ; forward steers were not strongl y competed for, realising from £5 2s 6d to £5 10s , empty cows sold much on the basis of recent sales, making to £2 5s for the best. Low conditioned sorts 24s to 335. There was a fair yarding of young cattle, principally females, but competition was exceedingly dull, and many lots were passed. Very few fat | sheep were penned, and competition ruled keen. Ewes ijn very forward condition made to 255, store hogge-.s 18s. Dairy cattle were in fair numbers, but competition was no better than usual. There was again a good enquiry for pigs, and the total entry was satisfactorily cleared. Baconers made to £5 Is,, porkers from £2 15s to £3 7s 6d, store pigs 37s to £2 6s, slips 23s to 32s 6d, weaners 10s 6d to 14s 6d. WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. g ee f. —Good .supplies are available, but values rule firm with slightly advancing tendency. Mutton. —Supplies are somewhat uncertain, and the quality mostly plain. Values continue to improve. Store Cattle. —The store cattle market remains in a very weak state and business is difficult. Male cattle generally are excedingly scarce, although there is an enquiry for young steers, but for heifers,' of winch there is a surplus, -no demand whatever exists. Some competition for store cows has been observed, and two dr three good drafts have been taken to outside districts.' Store Sheep.—A fair enquiry still exists for store sheep of all classes, but a great shortage is noticeable. Ewes in lamb continue to draw fair competition where offered. Dairy Cattle.—Good dairy cows and heifers close to calving have imprpved slightly, but there has been no alteration in inferior lots. As a rule cull cows would dr,aw better competition in the store pens. Pigs.—There is a strong demand for all classes of pigs. Supplies of fat pigs have fallen very low, and are in all centres eagerly competed for. We quote as follows; Bullocks, heavy prime £8 10s to £lO 10's, medium £7 to £8 ; cows, heavy young £5 15s to £7 10s, medium £4 10s to £5 ss, forward £3 to £3 15s ; steers, 3% to •4% yrs, forward, £4 10s to £5 10s, stores £4 to £4 10s ; cows, stores £1 10s to £2 ; steens, 2%-yr„ best £3 5s to £3 15s ; heifers, rising 2-year, r.w.b, Jersey £lO to £l5, rising 3-year Shorthorn, r.w.b., £6 to £7 ss, Holstein £7 10s to £9 ; empty heifers, 18-mortths, best Shorthorn £2 to £2 15s, medium £1 15s to £2 ; steers, 18-months„ best Shorthorn £3 to £3 7s 6d, medium £2 10,s to £2 15. s ; calves, heifers, best Shorthorn £1 2s 6d to £1 7s 6d, ( Holstein £2 to £2 10's, Jersey cross. £3 5s to £4 10s; calves, steers, Lest £l.los to £2, medium £1 5s to £1 10s, weedy 15s to £l. Wethers, prime heavy 33s 6d to 36s 6d, medium 31,s to 33s ; ewes, prime heavy 28s to 325; breeding ewes, best 5 and 6-year 30s to 345, medium 24s 6d to 27s ; store lambs, good 17s to 19s 6d, medium 15s to 16s 6d; forward lambs 18s 6d to 225. Pigs : Baconers, heavy £3 15s to £4 15s, light £3 2,s 6d to £3 10s; porkers, heavy £2 7s 6d to. £3 ; good slips £1 5s to £1 12s 6d, small 17s 6d to £1 2s 6d , weaners 12s 6d to 15s. Horses: Heavy .draughts £4O. to £45, medium £3O to £3B 10s, light £2O to £23 ; harness horses £lO. to £l7, hacks £5 -o £lO. '
