'WAIKATO la, THAMES VALLEY 6. There was a good attendance to witness the Thames Valley v. Waikato match at Hamilton on Saturday. Thames Valley kicked off, and practically at the start of the game Waikato was penalised through Castles lying' on the ball. ' Poland kicked well, but failed to obtain a goal. Some hard play and good passing rushes followed, resulting in Kemp scoring for Waikato. Cotter con-'l vert. Waikato 3, Thames Valley 0. Play became very’ fast, and veered from one end of the field to the other in quick succession, the visitors making some excellent rushes without scoring. Shortly afterwards Thames. Valley was awarded a try for obstruction by Bishop. "Waikato 3, Thames Valley 3. The visitors followed up with another try by Mooney, which was not converted. ‘Vyaikato 3, Thames Valley 6. Wright for Waikato then marked a,nd kicked a goal, and the first half closed with both teams even—6 all. Early in the second half Stewart dropped a goal from the field, increasing Waikato’s score to 10. Hudson followed it up,, but failed to score.. Another run by Johnson, Stewart and Beaver resulted in a score by Stewart, which was converted by Cotter. Waikato 15, Thames Valley 6. PLAINS NOTES. There were Ho club matches on the 1 . Plains on Saturday, Patetonga could not collect a team, so forfeited to Tu- - rua, while owing to the weather the Kerepeehi v, Waitakaruru match was postponed. It is now fourteen weeks since the commencement of the club matches, anl so far club football has been played only on six Saturdays. Representative football has accounted for, five days, while on three days matches, were abandoned pwing to the state of PAEROA FOOTBALL. Owing to the weaither conditions all games under the jurisdiction of the Paeroa Rugby Union were postponed on Saturday.
