“AUSSIE.”
4 JULY ISSUE. When laughter flies old age is surely creeping in,, and in pursuit of laughter and avoidance of old age we have “Aussie,” the cheerful monthly, to keep our hearts and eyes sparkling with the spirits of humour. The July issue, with a delightfully amusing cover in colour, and the usual avalanche of pictures and prose,, is well up to the standard of its ancestors. New artists and writers have contributed f.o the New Zealand section, of which, by the way, this is the fourth issue. And it is surprising tp find that Maoriland has clever writers and artiste along these lines —different from anything encouraged by New Zealand papers. This New Zealand section should prove to be a cradle for New Zealand light and black and white art. “Aussie lacks only one ithing. It lacks dulness. Every line on every page, every figure in every picture seems, to be inspired by the god of humour, and altogether you need not go beyond this popular magazine, especially the current issue, for a few hours of enteriatnment and enjoyment.
