• CLAUDEIANDS STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd.,, report : — At Claudelands sale on Thursday last there was quite a good yarding, mainly cattle. Strong competition ruled for beef; outside buyers operating freely. Prime fait, steers made 18 8s to £8 14s, lighter weights £6 12s; extra heavy prime fat cows £7 3s and £7 8s; good fat cows £4 10s to £5 6s, other killable cows £2 10s to £4 7s 6d; boners and canners £l.to £2 ss; bulls £2 to £3 ; calves, Jersey cross, 28s to £2 10s, weedy 7s 6d ; dairy covra and heifers £7 to £9 5s for anything close to profit, others dull of sale. The fat sheep also .sold well, wethers making 34s 6d, ewes 30s, hoggets' £l, Although only a few fat pigs were penned bidding was brisk, heavy baconers making £4 12s 6d ffo £4 15s; porkers £2 7s 6d to £2 148.
