< KEREPEEHI. t-Sfc. DREDGES. The pontoon for a big American dipper dredge which has peen under construction at Kerepeehi for som®r months was completed last week-anu will be launched within a few days. The Kingston dredge is at present . deepening the slipway. The pontoon $ is eighty feet long, and when fitted with machinery will be the biggest dredge on the Plains. The machinery is at present at, Kerepeehi. A start was made last week with the job of reassembling a Priestman dredge which had-been dismantled for overhaul. The Lands Department ’ steamer Hauraki has also been undergoing overhaul. The Kingston dredge has widened the river at Kerepeehi to a point opposite the wharf. • THE SCHOOL. The Kerepeehi School Committee 1 has been advised that a grant for the .1 erection of another classroom has bean authorised. ngatea. STOCK SALE. . There- was a full yarding arf, t|)W, Loan and Mercantile Agency’s Ngatea ' yards on Friday, and a ftir attendance, but competition was dull. When given at Keiepeehi centlv the concent was a great sue- - cess, the Ngatea people are hoping that the party will again visit Ngatea when Jupiter Pluvius is in a better humour.
