VETERINARY CLUB.

EXTRAORDINARY MEETING. An extraordinary general meeting of the Farmers’ Veterinary Club was held at Ngatea on Thursday afternoon to consider notices of motion dealing with membership and subscriptions. Mr C. H. Waite presided over a representative meeting. The chairman said thait he had obtained legal advice on the position of the club, which was to the effect that, until the club was incorporated it could not as a club sue for money due to it. The situation could be overcome by appointing. at a general meeting, one or more members to act on behalf of the club. The club wculd be incorporated in the near future.

To ensure collection of the money owing prior to becoming incorporated Mr P. Henry moved "That Mr C. H. Waite be authorised to take action on behalf of the members of the club to collect all outstanding moneys due as subscriptions for goods supplied.” This was seconded by Mr A. R. Vowles and carried unanimously. Mr C. H. Waite then moved, and Mr G. T. Davidson seconded : "That Rule 5 be altered to read 4 Every person wishing to become an ordinary member of the club shall make application and pay the prescribed annual subscription to the secretary, who shall place such application before the then next, meeting of the committee of management of the club. Applicants for membership shall be nominated by one member and seconded by another at a meeting of committee of management of the club and shall be elected by a vote of the majority present, at such meeting, taken on the voices or by ballot if so required-’ ” This was carried. The general meeting then closed. EXECUTIVE MEETING. The executive - met immediately after the general meeting, Mr C. H. Waite presiding. There were also present Messrs G. T. Davidson, P. Henry, Schwartz, J. Dpnaghy,, A'. JAndrews, Burke,, and the clerk (Mr C. A. Gibson), Mr Davidson welcomed Mr Schwartz as a member of the executive. Mr A. Cleaver wrote resigning from the executive of the club, and this was accepted with regret. Mr C. W. Schultz was elected to fill the vacancy. It was decided that the president, M> Andrews and Mr P- Hemy canvass Kopurarahi and Turua a,s soon as the club is incorporated. Several letters in regard to subscriptions were read and discussed, lit was decided that each would be dealt with on its merits. In some cases it was decided to take action to recover subscriptions, and in some cases to accept resignations. Considerable discussion arose on the question of membership and subsubscriptions, and how to carry on. The chairman suggested that an order on the Dairy Company be obtained for money due.
