WEDDING.
HANDLEY—RICE. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, Paeroa/ on Saturday last, June 23, when Miss Kathleen Annie Rice, only daughter of Mr Thomas Rice, o£ Netherton, was married to Mr William Patrick Handley, third son of M ! r James Handley, of Paerpa. The Rev. Father Dunphy officiated. The bride was given away by her father, and was charmingly attired in a gown of cream brocaded satin draped with pearl ornaments. The train was lined with shell pink crepe de chine. Her bridal veil was held in position by pearl ornaments, and orange blossoms. Miss Thelma Cpughlan (cousin of the bride) attended as bridesmaid, and wore a dainty frock of se.a-green crepe de chine and silver grey hat. There were also in attendance two little flower girls—’Maud Handley (the bridegroom’s sister) and Kathleen Morrison. Both wore pretty petalled frocks of lilac crepe de chine and violet hats, and caroled bouquets of violets. Mr Lisloughton Rice, brother of the bride, attended as best man. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a silver-backed brush and comb, and the flower girls received gold brooches. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the Soldiers’ Club, where the wedding breakfast was served and the usual toasts honoured, Mr and Mrs Handley left later for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a fawn tailored costume with hat to match.
