PEACE CUP MATCH AT THAMES. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY. The Hauraki Plains representative team to play against Thames on Saturday next for the Peace Cup will be selected on Friday from the following :— >' C. Tatton; half-back, E. Elliott.t; rover, E, Kelly; forwards, A, O'Hara, W. Pollock, C. Hudson, L, Stewart, M. Hayward, A. Lomas/. B. • Burkhardt. Emergencies: A. Cowley, K Lockett, .W. Strange, T. Lloyd. Mr, J. Buchanan has been selected to referee the match. • Launches will leave Patetonga at 8 a.m., Kerepeehi 9 a.m., and Ngatea 9.30 a.m. for <the football match at Thames- on Saturday next. There will be ample room for spectators. footballers are confident of •the result on . Saturday. In the window of one of the leading shops the Peace Cup is displayed, together with a banner worded “What we have we hold,” and the Thames colours. The Plains supporters say, “Perhaps'; wait and see !” The following juniors have been selected to play a curtain-raiser aaginst Thames, on Saturday :— * Full-back, "W. three-quai -, ters.- H Robinson, H. Emergencies : A. Elvin, L. Coxhead, P. Leonard, F. Banks. Although there are at present, no club matches on the Plains the Referees’ Association meats as usual on Tuesday evenings, to discuss ruler. Last, evening, besides the Ngatea representatives^.there .were men from Turua* Waitakaruru, and Patetonga, and many points in connection with recent ■ matches were discussed at length.
